Education Foundation
Vision:
Before year 2020, Angelina County will
have an educational system with high expectations that drives both jobs and
incomes through creation of a balanced mix of career, technical and
professionally trained citizens.
Chairperson:

Bonnie Denmon
is
serving as the Chairman of the Education Foundation, as well as Chairman of
the Chamber's Education Council. After retiring from a career in the
Medical field, she is anything but idle. Her passion is education and
she is currently on the board of Stubblefield Learning Center, Lotus Lane
Foundation, and Gear-Up Advisory Board. Bonnie is a graduate of Leadership
Lufkin and is a recipient of the Jack O. (Butch) McMullen Silver Spike
Award. This is just "the tip of iceberg"of Bonnie's accomplishments and
community involvement. Look for great things coming from her
leadership in Vision 2020.
Strategies:
The
Education Strategies are specific
areas to be adopted by Vision Partners.
The Education Council, a
program created by the Lufkin/Angelina Chamber of Commerce, is also chaired
by Bonnie Denmon. The Education Council has established 6 goals or
Priorities
that are in alignment with Vision 2020 Education Foundation's
Strategies, A2, A3, A6 and B1. The Council meets on the first Tuesday
bi-monthly at 4:00 p.m. in the Chamber Community Room. See the
Calendar for the upcoming meetings.
